We traded some of our timeshares into an ownership at Vidanta in 2015. These are very high-end beach resorts in Mexico.

Vidanta Promotional Vacation Certificates

$650 for a week in a resort studio ($4200 value)

As new members, we have the option of acquiring promotional vacation certificates. Each is valid through the end of 2017, and entitles the holder to stay a week in a Master Room (studio) at a Mayan Palace or Sea Garden building for the member price ($600 or $567 respectively) plus a $50 reservation fee. These are not hotels which rent directly to the public. But they generally offer a one-time promotional rate of $3010/week or $2380/week respectively, compared to the rack rate of $4200 (Mayan Palace). Contact me if you are interested.

These certificates are suitable for charity auctions, if you make clear what the certificate provides. They are also suitable for things like faculty / student awards. Each provides a very elegant resort week in Mexico for a reasonable price.

When you travel on the certificate, they will entice you to attend a timeshare sales presentation. That's why they offer the steep discount. This bribe sometimes includes an upgrade of your unit from Mayan Palace to, for example, Grand Mayan. At Nuevo Vallarta, that also gives you access to their 'endless river'. Our grandkids absolutely loved that, as well as the waterslide. Below is the sunset view from their French restaurant.

See my challenge page for a way that I challenge you to use one or more of these certificates.
